Dr. John Kirsch is a board-certified veterinary surgeon specializing in small animals (dogs and cats). He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (1998). His post-doctoral training included two years of internship – one at the University of Georgia (1999) and one at a surgical referral center in Orange Park, Florida (2000). Following these, he completed three years of surgical residency at Michigan State University (2003), with specialized training in orthopedic, oncologic, soft-tissue, and neurologic surgery. After credentialing and passing a certification examination, he was admitted as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Dipl ACVS 2005). In the course of his training and practice, Dr. Kirsch has published surgical techniques and articles in numerous veterinary journals and textbooks. Dr. Kirsch and his wife Karen grew up in Sarasota. They have two sons, Jack and Ben. They have two German Shepherd Dogs, brothers Ingo and Otto, and three cats, Zingerman, Hazel, and Boo.
